Welcome to Pinterest

Time to hop on the band wagon I guess. I've never really found a useful purpose for Pinterest or ever really found limitless amounts of time to spend on something that doesn't seem to really get me anywhere or anything. You "pin" things that you like. So other people can see what you like. And comment on the things that you like. And maybe, if you're a true "pinner", they'll even re-pin your pins. Holy crap. BUT, I've spent some time on the site and now I think that I've been able to find a reason to use this time wasting website (and maybe after a while I won't be so cynical about it). It helps me remember myself. I know that doesn't really make sense. But in actual reality, I have all these things I want to do, to try, to find, to be and in all the hustle and bustle of life and the daily grind, I forget that it would be fun to try a new recipe. Or even just to cook anything at all for that matter. I forget that I should look up cheap ways to travel to Costa Rica so that maybe one day it will actually happen. I forget all the inspirational quotes that I heard not so long ago that I always want to remember. I forget little parts of me that different areas of my life brought to surface. And if a pinboard is what it takes to keep track of all the little parts of me, then I guess it's time to give in. So let the pinning adventures begin!

The Start of a New Year

So December was a ridiculous month for us! We had Collin's birthday, our anniversary and Christmas all rolled up into the last couple of weeks. And may I just say that we've had a blast! For Collin's birthday, we went to Disney (of course) and spent the after noon there. We went to the animal kingdom and then we went to Epcot to eat dinner. They have a hibachi house in the Japan section that Collin has ALWAYS wanted to go to. So good!!

ONE YEAR!!!! Can you all believe that's it's been that long? Time seriously flies. It surprises me every day how fast the time goes. The anniversary was so nice. We didn't plan anything the whole day except dinner and basically just bounced from thing to thing. It was so relaxing and we had a great day together.

Believe it or not, we had a good Christmas as well. True, we wished we could have been home to see all of you and spend the holidays with family, but for being all the way on the other side of the country, it wasn't too shabby! Turns out that Collin has some extended family that lives about 15 minutes from us and they were gracious enough to invite us over for dinner. The food was great and the company was hilarious! We had a lot of fun and ended spending a few hours with them. And guess what? I got a kindle!!!! I know it's not anything super fancy, but neither Collin or I have anything that's really technologically advanced so I sure am excited about it! We're moving up in the world! I got Collin some new Disney movies to build up our collection and some Thomas Keller cookbooks that he really wanted. I know what you're thinking. "You got a kindle and all you got him were some cookbooks?" I know!! But that's what he wanted!  We also got so many Christmas cards full of love and good wishes so thanks to everyone who thought of us and took the time to make us feel remembered over Christmas :)

January has started out just like any other January. We still haven't put our two Christmas decorations away and we're back to working all the time and Collin's at school as well. Although we do have one amazing thing to look forward to! My sissie poo, Crystal is coming for ten days!! Holla!!!! It will be so nice to see part of my family again and you all are gonna be so jealous of the crazy time we're gonna have!

So since it's the new year, I've got all these goals running around in my head and I'm going to share them :)
1. Lose 15 pounds by the end of March.
2. Lose another 10 pounds by August.
3. Go on at least 3 vacations.
4. Pay off one credit card by June.
5. Win MVP at work at least once.

WISH ME LUCK BECAUSE I'M GOING TO NEED IT!!!!!!

Oh and last thing. I just got a new calling..... I am the new Beehive advisor! Holy crap!! Send prayers my way because I am going to need them!!

I love you all and I miss you so much! Hopefully the day that we move home will come sooner rather than later and we'll all get to be together again. Don't forget about us ;) Love you!

Let's all get up to speed!

As most of you know, Collin and I had a pretty rocky start here in Orlando! But thanks to A LOT of prayers and help from some really amazing people, things are so much better here :) We have an apartment that we both really like. It's really spacious and a two bedroom so please come visit because we won't be here for long!! We're both working a bunch and we both love our jobs. Collin, of course, is LOVING school and every day he comes home and tells me that he just wants more of it! So who knows? Maybe after we're done here we might just go get more school somewhere else!

I'm working at the Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant for those of you that are newbies to the place) and Collin is working at Williams-Sonoma. Of course Collin wants to buy EVERYTHING there so it's good that one day we'll hopefully have a store that's like it and he can get everything for much cheaper. Our little doggy, Anna, is freaking out in the Orlando weather! I've never had to clean up so much stinkin doggy hair every single day in my whole life!!! She sheds like no other! Good thing we're not allergic. But she really has handled the move out here like a champ. Although, she does miss little Maximoose to play with almost every day! No puppy playmates here yet.

We have also been fortunate to find a ward out here that's pretty nice. Our first day at church, a really fantastic Brother just introduced himself to us before we even sat down, plus his family, plus the bishopric, PLUS half the ward! Super nice guy! Our church is also right across the street from the temple, and everyone in Orlando knows about the Mormon temple!! My boss even told me it's the prettiest "church" building he's ever seen :)

Right now our schedules are pretty hectic and we really don't see each other a whole heck of a lot! But hey, that's life right? It only makes the moments that we do get to spend some time together that much better. For those of you who were wondering, our Thanksgiving was great! Of course, we wished we could have been home with all of you but for just being us two, we had fun! We spend half the day at Disney World and holy crap was it packed! Then we made some dinner together (delicious since Collin did most of the cooking) and went to see a movie. A whole day where we could be together! We couldn't have asked for more. We're getting really excited for Christmas as well. It's so weird that there's no snow! My body is freaking out thinking that it's still summer ha! The palm trees with christmas lights just make me giggle but other than that Orlando really gets in the Christmas spirit! There are decorations all over the whole city and of course the amusement parks have huge parties and celebrations. Hopefully, even without you guys, we can really get into the Christmas spirit :)

Well, that's it for now. Just a mediocre update of our lives :) I just want to leave you with one mind blowing thought. Next week is our one year anniversary!! What?!?!?!?!? It doesn't feel like it's been a year at all!! But with my wonderful, loving, amazing husband it's been the best year of my life so far! We miss you all so so so so much and we can't wait until we're all together again. Love you all!!
